ABOUT THE PLAY
A play written in the style of Anton Chekov, set on a Starship in the year 3047.
A diplomatic mission brings a professor and his lovely alien wife and faithful doctor aboard the Starship Astrov, where unspoken love and misunderstandings abound between the ship's crew and the guests. As times adapt, will the future change us, or will humanity stay the same at heart?
"The remarkable thing is that it actually works, and works well, due in large part to playwright Duncan Pflaster's ability to walk the fine line between humor and pathos, just like Chekhov before him. Astrov is a very funny play." StageBuzz
"Pflaster has reimagined some of Chekhov's characters and plotting with aplomb." Theatermania
"Pflaster packs his dialogue with clever one-liners, and the actors commit to their material... An amusing evening of theater." Show Business Weekly
